Goal List Week Commencing 7th October 2012

Another busy week has passed, and I've struggled to get any quality sleep again. I've tried not to worry about getting by on only a few hours. Instead I've brought some delicious tea to soothe my busy mind. It tastes rather lovely, and is almost refreshing, I'm not sure if it will help, but I shall try it each evening this week in the hope it make a difference.

Maria A Smith
This is what I did over the last seven days.

Writing -

Submissions - Sent a short story out for consideration

Met up with a writing buddy for lunch.

Blog - Wrote three posts.

Wrote a very short monologue.

Went along to the writers group and offered critique on prose.

Relaxation -

Walking - I managed to get out a couple of times.

Music - Listened to Mozart

Something to entertain me - I went to the theatre to see Finding Neverland!

New Recipe - Made a speedy chicken dish

Boring but necessary -

Household paperwork - I cleared a huge tray of stuff.

The next seven days will mainly be about getting organised to increase my writing output, blogging, and getting out to do more walking. If time permits, I'm going to take some pictures too.

How did you get on last week, and  what do you plan to do this week?

  1. I'm impressed that you wrote three blog posts! I only wish I could get that organized. :)

And Finding Neverland is one of my favorites, but it makes me sob like a baby.

    1. This was the stage show a theatre premiere, which was shown in Leicester, very close to home. I loved it, and the acting was very good too. Next stop London I believe.

    1. Thanks Teresa, do let me know if the tea works for you. It states on the box to have one or two cups before bedtime. However, I think I'll be running back and forward to the loo if I do that!

  3. I wrote a short story for our good friend 'PF' Hopefully they will like it. Worked on my novel. While reading the Writers' News I've been inspired to enter one of their competitions. I like the idea of having something out there while I'm working on my novel.
My friend Ana and I like to walk, talk and take photographs together in the early morning last week we managed to get out for a walk three mornings out of 4

    1. You are doing great! I don't have anything suitable for 'People's Friend' and doubt I could write anything in their style. I hope you are successful. Incidentally, I've also been looking at Writing Magazine, and thought I really ought to try and enter one of their competitions.

I think i need a walking buddy like yours, then I might have more reason to get out. I so don't want to miss all the beautiful autumn colours. My camera is poised and ready. Its down to the weather, and me being able to get outside now.

  4. You've been busy!

Hope the tea helps. If you like the smell of lavender you could try putting a sachet of it, or a few drops of oil, on or under your pillow.

  6. Hi Maria! I loved the movie Finding Neverland--and I'm intrigued with the concept of a theater version. Sounds like a great way to spend your fun time. And tea is one of my favorite ways to unwind.
    Have a great week!

    1. Hi Coleen, Since I went on Thursday evening, I keep thinking of the storyline, and how i could identify with a lot of it as a writer. I'm enjoying a brew of the herbal tea now as I type, it is rather delicious I have to say.

  10. Oh boy do I know what you mean about sleep! I've been on allergy meds that give me insomnia, and some nights I don't sleep at all. But hey, what doesn't kill you...

Way to be productive! What am I going to do this week? Home school 3 kids, attend a training meeting, go to the temple, send my son on a scout campout, clean a church, cut hair, maintain a house, clean in anticipating of visiting family, birthday shopping, blogging, and a little writing around the edges. I think it's better to take one day at a time... Lists can be scary.
